"What should we do when this group home is flooded during heavy rainfall?"
We have conducted an flood drill assuming such the evacuation scenario to train up the service users of our facility.
１．The first step of the drill was to let the service users to learn some basic knowledges through watching a video of disaster drill.
２．Then the service users were practicing the vertical evacuation by evacuating to the second floor of the facility. When they heard the staff's announcement "The first floor may soon be flooded due to heavy rainfall. Please evacuate to the second floor immediately!", everyone put on the helmet from their rooms and evacuate to the designated evacuation area.
３．After that, horizontal evacuation was carried out. The horizontal evacuation means moving away from the area of danger to a safer place on the same floor where the individual is at the time of the alarm or emergency.
And so, the service users evacuate to the nearby designated evacuation site 【school】under the guidance of the staffs.

Almost everyone did pretty well during this evacuation drill.
We will continue to conduct evacuation drills to equip the service users with adequate disaster prevention knowledge.
